Last night was exquisite. Hi there audience member, why don’t you scoot a little closer so I can whisper that in your ear. Then I’ll step back for a moment and make meaningful eye contact. Last night was wonderful. I really had a good time. I hope you had a good time too. We should do it again soon. Give me a call. Or I’ll give you a call. Let’s not play games. We should see each other again SOON.
Well, not TOO soon. Let’s not do anything to give lie to how we advertised the night : the last in-person show of 2021.
Less than half way through December – it seems a bit early to make that declaration, but Hells BELLS it’s been an exhausting year and I think I’ll be happy to set people to the side for a couple of weeks. I’ll still be running my open mics, and Tuesday, yes, will still be in-person. We’ll still be Live from the Lair every Wednesday. Hell, I have NO idea if we’re going to ever give that a rest… but the sheer exhaustion of herding cats, trying to distribute information to all parties involved, get everyone to the same place at ROUGHLY the same time, I’ll happily roll sans those stresses for a couple of weeks.
But back to the top. Last night was beautiful. We had a great audience, a fantastic room, everything was beyond my expectations and that did a lot to make me glow today. I was so worried about turn out and then in the last 20 hours or so we doubled our ticket sales. I was so worried about sound because I’ve been having trouble making things SOUND GOOD recently, but the room… was NOT a concrete box for a change! And some of the most exquisite humans in the room. We kept those masks betwixt us but … it was good to hug some people.
Plus I got a Cthulu mug!
