October 10th, 2022. AF.

Much of my last couple of weeks has been given over to streaming and running sound for a synagogue in Chevy Chase. Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. A lot of work, but very gratifying.
Friday night was given over to an ilyAIMY video shoot. We did great things.

Today started off strangely, beautifully calm. I had a morning meeting in which I laid a couple of things out including a projected problem with one individual person, I received a number of new jobs from various clients that’ll make this month feel great even as the open mics have died off for the season, and most importantly, I came home last night from my last “I haven’t done this a thousand times so it makes me a wee bit nervous” job on the calendar, which I’ve had a LOT of recently. Yes – I felt in control of my Life, slightly affirmed even more firmly as I immediately had the problem I’d projected with that one individual person.

As foretold!

I have more tripods and cameras than I think I do!
Video shoot for Quarantiner!

But as the ongoing house drama unfolds I had to go and upload a bunch of financial documents, and like many, many people with retirement accounts, my IRA has lost roughly a quarter of its value in the last several weeks, and for some inexplicable reason my credit score (though still “very good”) is at the lowest it’s been in years, and an individual I’ve been trying to reach reaches out to me because all my emails have been going to his spam folder and been deleted (thank you AOL) and so he’s asked me to call him – and my PHONE CALL gets blocked by his spam filter…

A very different wedding venue for my friends Kosi and Matt – but I wasn’t streaming or shooting video – I was officiating!
Last night, October 9th, I officiated the wedding of Kosi and Matt and THAT was something beautiful – and shouldn’t really be combined with this post! Actually… I’m gonna delete the gallery below and give it’s own post cause that’s the RIGHT THING TO DO!!!

And yet I receive a dozen spam calls, texts, emails, and friend requests an hour, NOT including the myriad poorly-researched booking requests that may as WELL be spam because when you’re an EDM cold-calling a folk venue you’ve NOT done the work any more than someone who’s bought a random contact list.

And it alllll feels malicious.

As fuck.

I’ll recover my sunny disposition soon, I’m sure. I’ve been up to great things, and doing stuff that makes me smile. I’ve got time to attend my own open mic tonight! I’m eating one of my favourite salsas. We have great gigs coming up.

But damn if I don’t I feel like the world is out to get me.
