Help, feels like I’m stepping into the Twilight Zone. Feels like a madhouse. Hell, if I’m quoting songs, I must have an allergy. It’s the only way to explicate the world today…
Heather and I have been sniffly through this entire month. I don’t know if it’s allergies, stress, road dust, Life, illness or what, but it’s been constant. Heather’s been legitimately suffering. I’m just constantly sniffling and being hit with bouts of sneezing, and today my eyes ITCH and I’m generally feeling pretty miserable. The sunshine is too bright, my stomach has been irate, and with 4 days left before I sleep in my own bed I lost my waterbottle in Saint Louis, MO and I will run out of conditioner tomorrow.
All-in-all, I feel a little rough around the edges. I am looking forward to being able to Say I Did and to shaving with the trimmers I left at home sitting on my sink.

A huge part of it all is probably the heat. After weeks of bracingly cold air and searingly pure, but perfect-temperature sunshine, allowing us to remember Sweden longingly and to pretend we’ll be coming home to autumn, today is brutally hot, hovering in the low 90s, melting any chocolate we have secreted about our persons.
I cannot proactively eat any more Kit Kats. I will freeze them when we stop tonight and hope they return to solid form, because Kit Kat soup is NEVER good.
But I shouldn’t be complaining. The show last night in Saint Louis was, after a stressful start, awesome. And the food was, especially after the previous night’s disappointment, absolutely wonderful. Evangeline’s was a great night, and all the stressors of the night melted away as we slipped into Doing what we DO and even the owner came forward desparate to catch it all on his phone, sending me emails about how awesome we were before we’d even made it back to our Suzibird nests for the night.
We’re headed to Nashville where we will NOT be playing. We will happily just have dinner, talk and catch up with old friends, and sleep. I hear there are bunkbeds.
Then tomorrow Alabama. Then the next day our already-sold out house concert in North Carolina…. And then (hush) we hope to be home on Wednesday!
I think I might just sleep till Friday.
Yeah. Sleep till Friday.
