December 14th, 2025. Perfect Snow and a tiny mic.

Last night I ran sound for Juliet Lloyd. Beautiful show, underpopulated, but since she’s got like 5 or 6 big holiday shows in the area in the next two weeks, I’m not sure that I’m shocked by that. We didn’t webcast so my workload was actually incredibly chill. Add that to the incoming threat of sleet and snow and we had a trifecta of getting-out-early ingredients.

By 9.30pm I was headed away from Gaithersburg and headed home in the first cold drops of the coming Weather Event, listening to Kenneth Branagh read the Chronicles of Narnia to me – and by the next morning the world had been blanketed with the PERFECT snow. Pleasantly wet and easily packed. Instant snowballs but with a single scoop of my robpaw. Not too deep so it was easy to shovel but anything deeper and it would’ve been obnoxiously heavy. Not too thin, for any thinner it’d have been crispy and icy.

Perfect snow.

If only I wasn’t too big for sledding and my brother or Sean Morse were around to throw snowballs at.
