March 1st, 2026. Surprise!

Completely unrelated.

And surprise, we’re at war!

Or perhaps not. Maybe we just lobbed a bunch of missiles and
drones and bombs at Iran and are going to turn on to other things. But just
when I think that the Second Trump Ascendency can’t possibly be this good at
parallel processing, it generally turns out that they are CONSUMMATE spinners
of countless plates.

What follows in this diatribe has really just become a rant,
which I try to avoid, but I feel like I spend too much time with this stuff
squirreling around in my head, never letting it all out.

The damage of DOGE continues and Pete Hegseth is pulling out
of Columbia University because he believes that sending students there is equivalent
to having them educated by The Enemy, who is Woke. On a random Tuesday morning
after the Super Bowl, it was ordered that all government websites be solely in
English by close of business. One morning Trump demolished the East Wing of the
White House for a 150 million… oh, 200 million… no, wait now it’s a 400 million
dollar ballroom.

Over a hundred vehicles used by ICE have been moved to
Maryland this weekend presumably for the next assault on anyone who looks like
an immigrant. A tariff here, a tariff there, “oh, the tariffs are illegal?,
more tariffs for everyone then!”. He has renamed the Kennedy Center after himself,
renamed the Institute of Peace after himself added a “Trump-class” to American
battleships, Trump Accounts, Trump rX prescription sites. He put his face on
the National Park passes which now celebrate HIS birthday rather than Martin Luther
King, Jr’s. He has sued the IRS, sued the Treasury, sued the Department of
Justice, sued CBS, sued Paramount, sued ABC News and Disney, sued the Wall
Street Journal, the New York Times and the BBC and the Des Moines Register, a
newspaper in Iowa with a circulation of fewer than 20,000 subscribers. He’s
proposed taking over Greenland, owning Gaza, attacked Venezuela and now Iran.
He’s bombed Somalia, Yemen, Iraq and Syria. He’s attacked renewable energy, stated
that the noise of windmills cause cancer, declared greenhouse gasses safe for
human consumption (okay, not literally… he removed the scientific finding that greenhouse
gasses were harmful for human consumption), has ordered the removal of climate
science, gender science, health science, reproductive science and frankly, most
GOOD science from government websites and consideration. He’s lied about the
weather, storms, and fretted that “they’re eating the cats and dogs”. He’s lied
about elections, and after literally calling upon election officials to “just find
votes”, has actively called for mass gerrymandering, reversing and undermining
decades of progress towards making election maps LESS “black and white”. 28
women have accused him of sexual misconduct and though there doesn’t seem to be
any actual evidence in the Epstein Files pointing to wrong-doing by Trump, he’s
mentioned thousands of times and as of the moment, the Department of Justice
has removed the 50 pages of interviews with the those who’ve accused him of abuse
in those files… (that’s why when you censor stuff you double-check your page
numbers, folks…)

And beyond all that, he’s just a repugnant individual. The
way he talks about people, talks TO people, belittles people, whines and
patronizes. Is it really as simple as that? Do I just hate him because he
reminds me of every jock, rich-kid bully? Does the country divide down those
lines? People who are assholes and people who glorify assholes on one side and
on the other… people who think that common courtesy and being kind shouldn’t be
viewed as weakness?

And social media siloes us, the walls grow higher around objective
knowledge, the last “independent” news sources are collapsing and being
purchased and Men Of Industry all come forth to offer fealty and cash. I do not
see how we recover from this. November’s elections are going to be a war.

Yeah, surprise. We’re at war with EVERYONE.
