Great show at the Focal Point tonight. A little small and I’ve got to figure out how to spread the word even MORE effectively. I’m sure I’ll hear from a couple of people who I bugged that they’d forgotten or missed the date or simply didn’t notice the email in time… whether or not that’s just an excuse for not coming out or if it’s a genuine screw up – I want to eliminate the latter.
The show itself was great. We were fun if a little rambly – and as usual I wish I could remember all of my stories. The Sandy story that seemed so funny pre-Sandy in Pittsburgh seems less so now that she’s wiped power off the grids of so much of the east coast, put friends underwater and shattered roofs and walls all up and down New York, New Jersey and Delaware and beyond. I didn’t tell it tonight because what HAD seemed like meteorological hyperbole turned out to pretty Armageddon-esque. My mind is a little bit there, I think.

Hrm. There’s a lot of shit squirreling through my head… post-gig, election crap, friends and family and THEIR crap. It’s going to be just Susan and me tonight and I’m looking forward to chatting till the wee hours. (if the birds let us!) She’s probably the one person on Earth who’ll be able to talk for a couple of hours and NOT bring up politics. I got an email thanking us for NOT being too political in our show and about how “pulling aMadonna” would’ve NOT been appreciated. Whatever – I think there’s a broad spectrum betwixt what we do and pulling a plastic gun (or knife) on one’s audience. I think we could afford to be a little louder in our beliefs.
