With the on-again off-again will-they won’t-they nature of the Morsbergers open mic this summer, AND with the short night at the SPARK this week, I’d actually gone into the night thinking I might be done before 10pm. I went in with an upset stomach and vague hopes that it would be the case.
Nope. It was the longest Morsbergers open mic YET and it was AMAZING. Incredible moments of music, good feelings, some truly special moments.
I’m absolutely having a bit of a Renaissance of positive emotion when it comes to open mics. Perhaps because I’m feeling more and more like this is what *I* can do about the world. Creating these spaces, bringing these artists together. Showing them that playing together doesn’t have to just be about picking up women and getting drunk. Showing them that they’re not alone.

We do this (almost) every Sunday night at Morsbergers at 713 Frederick Rd, Catonsville, MD, 21228. (but not next week). Signup at 6.30, music at 7pm. Enter through the back at the LARGER of the two doors! (the other entrances are straight to the bar side and Boba Fett won’t always point the way!)
