Playing the Lair with Lydia and Jonah Wednesday night was a joy. We didn’t know WHAT to expect but I’m consistently surprised by how badass Jonah is and how quietly hilarious Lydia is. I honestly was expecting it to be kind of an awkward night, but the Lydia laid beautifully haunting melodies down on a lot of our songs and Jonah was just a lot of fun.

Now… if only we could get him a lighter amp. Because holy crap.

Kristen and I had a Day but we made up for it with a sushi dinner with my mom and then ice cream for just the two of us.

Thursday night Kristen and I took my mom out for an early mother’s day dinner. It was a beautiful night in Ellicott City and my mom rose to the challenge of sushi admirably. Dinner was delicious but there were a fair number of challenges over the course of the day. Exhausted, we dropped my mom back off at her place and we went out for ice cream because we were DESERVING. Blackberry and chocolate in a waffle cone for me. That plus my moustache resulted in … well… my mom did better with the sushi than I did with the ice cream!

So, there’s a regular dumpster / recycling party at a local church in Catonsville and we grabbed a couple of things that’ve been just languishing in the house for years. I had pulled the hard drive perhaps a decade ago and this laptop’s just been sitting. I opened it up and was reminded that we used to build really, really nice laptops. If I was more industrious I’d have harvested the lid because those stickers were a Journal entry all on their own. Saturday morning we got up, got out, and I promptly pulled my back chucking my gigantic WORKFORCE printer into a dumpster. No pic of the printer. I’m still angry at it.

Saturday afternoon we ran off to Frederick for our monthly Monocacy show. Beautiful night but the pain in my back progressed and made it a little hard to appreciate the perfect weather. Even the burger tasted bland when seasoned with PAIN.
