Music City Open Mic.

It’s good to be back. After how much angst I’d had over the SPARK last week, I was a little wary of being enthusiastic about tonight, but the vibe was completely different, and even though the kitchen wasn’t open (c’mon Jeni, if you want people to buy dinner, you’ve got to sell dinner!) and my back was still hurting from having pulled it chucking my printer in a dumpster, I had a wonderful night. I’m looking forward to working on the recordings.

There WERE some strange feelings about Mother’s Day though. A number of people called their moms and had little fights out on the porch. One mom came to the open mic. My mom texted me to ask about her pills. Someone had recently reconnected with their birthmom. Someone else had just made someone else a mom… and was at my open mic? I ain’t here to judge.

Joy was perpetrated.

We do this every Sunday night at Morsbergers Tavern in Catonsville, MD. Signup around 6.30pm, music at 7pm. 2 songs or 10 minutes, whichever’s shorter.
