Tonight actually was a joy, but that does NOT mean I won’t be taking a break soon! I got into town early, driving in the insane Maryland sun as the temperature outside crept well into the 90s and radio meteorologists excitedly recited records breaking like broken records.

I got to the SPARK and spent a couple of hours running songs with Rebecca Berlin, which is a wonderful joy, and then started setting up for my featured artist – moreso than the open mic – as they had some pretty specific monitor and routing needs.

It may be “just an open mic” but I try to impress.

We do this every Tuesday, with or without me, at the SPARK at School of Musical Traditions (7112 Willow Ave., Takoma Park, MD). Signup before we get started at 7pm, randomized list. Tis the best free night of entertainment in Takoma Park on a Toosday in my opinion. House piano, webcast, 2 songs or 10 minutes whichever’s shorter, family-friendly.
